I like to go with JVC products for the simple reason being, they may not be the absolute best product, but, you get a lot of bang for the buck. Here is a quick rundown of the hits and misses.The Hits: The auto dimming feature is nice! Swipe your hand near the face and it lights back up. You can customize the background screen as well as the screen colors. It is blue in the picture on this site, but, you can change it to whatever color you want. The hands free/bluetooth feature works great. I do recommend mounting the microphone on your visor so it will be closer to your mouth and give better outbound audio. My voice command did not work until I moved it to the visor ( iPhone 4 ). If you have a Verizon or Sprint iPhone, you will want to update it as soon as it is installed. Their is a bluetooth patch that was released for CDMA iPhones to help them obtain better BT connectivity. You will obviously need... This car came with a factory JBL stereo and I connected this receiver to the JBL amp so that I could use the factory speakers (more later).The new JVC KW-AV70BT receiver is configured with the SiriusXM SXV200v1 tuner and KS-U30 iPhone adapter cable. I used the Metra 95-8203 installation kit. Since I had previously installed an aftermarket receiver, I already had the Toyota Receiver Wiring Harness that I had bought from Crutchfield. It's important to note that this harness includes the four RCA jacks used to connect the factory JBL amplifier to the new receiver. You CANNOT connect the factory speakers directly to this receiver. Best bang for the buck!! I was contemplating between this unit and the pioneer av4400bh. I chose this one for a few simple reason, #1 ease of use #2 jvc screen is wvga while pioneer use qvga (horrible quality) #3 doesn't need parking brake module - just ground the wire and you're in business. #4 detachable faceplate (big plus)Many people have stated that this is a slightly larger double din unit, true but.. I have 2007 F150 and the metra kit was way too small to even fit on this unit without having to dremel it, so upon further research I found that the best kit fmk542 fits the jvc perfectly, no cutting required!!! I bought the ks-u30 iPhone cable and works like a charm, controls my iPhone from the headunit. As far as people concerned about Bluetooth quality, I was fortunate enough to get a unit that has the latest 1.05 firmware on it which fixes all Bluetooth issues & clarity.
