This is an excellent product! My boat didn't have a factory provision for a stereo, so this was a great option. You control it through your Lowrance HDS series sonar/charting head unit. It sounds great and it's easy to control once you get the hang of operation your HDS head unit. The iPod dock works very well too! The network cabling was a little tricky to navigate. I had to call Lowrance for help, but every thing else was intuitive. This is a superb product for the price. I highly recommend it for Lowrance HDS owners who want some tunes too!!

1.0 out of 5 stars lowrance sonic hub, March 27, 2012
This review is from: Lowrance 000-10141-001 SonicHub Marine Audio Server for HDS Systems (Sports)
Amazingly Lowrance does not provide a connector from the Sonic Hub to their LWX weather so we can finally enjoy the Sirius radio we have been paying for the past 3years. They claim this mystery connector is readily available, but they are wrong.
If they make two compatible products should they not provide a connector.
No connector no purchase as the sonic hub does not do what Lowrance claims if you cannot connect them.
No support from Lowrance just well sell sell as usual!

I installed this with an HDS7. I have a 2008 G3 HP180 and did not want a big head unit installed and wanted to add a integrated music system to my boat. Out of site out of mind. This was the way to go. I installed this myself on a additional/separate battery I added in the front, which also runs my HDS7. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE SAME COMMON GROUND/Negative FROM YOU STARTING BATTERY, WHERE YOUR MOTOR WIRES IN TO. otherwise you will get ground bounce and your NMEA 2K network will not run properly. The system needed a NMEA 2K wiring kit from Lowrance for an additional $50. Also no AM/FM antenna. I used the Tune Trapper, great reception antenna. The rest of the cabling is there. Remember to use to 128 Ohm termination resistors they provide you.

The system plays loud and has descent midrange. I have a Yamaha F115 and it will play over the engine going down the lake. Speaker placement is key. The wider apart the better. Mine where placed low by the floor and angled up to the... Read more
